SCHOLARSHIP


On behalf of Texas Police Trainers and its subscribers, we are pleased to announce the first Texas Police Trainers scholarship for the Fall of 2018 semester to a graduating high school senior and/or undergraduate dependent child of one of our subscribers. 


1. Who is eligible?

 Dependent child of a Texas law enforcement individual (Peace Officer, Jailer, Telecommunication Officer).  Parent must also be a subscribing member of the Texas Police Police website.  Eligible dependents must be:

 Children by birth, legal adoption or legal guardianship
 Unmarried, dependent child age 23 and under at the time of course enrollment
 Graduating high school senior or enrolled an undergraduate program at a college or university.

 2.  What is the scholarship amount?  

The 2018 scholarship is $500.  Future scholarship(s) amount per calendar year may vary depending on funding.

3. What documentation is required?

 Birth certificate of dependent, or adoption papers or court order of legal guardianship
 If dependent is stepchild of subscriber: in addition to birth certificate, also submit valid marriage license
of employee and spouse
 Letter from school counselor verifying the high school student is graduating, with an average GPA of 2.0 or better, based on a 4.0 scale, or a letter of enrollment from college registrar office with GPA of 2.0 or better, based on a 4.0 scale.

5. How will the scholarship be disbursed?

Scholarship payment will be mailed to the recipients college of choice Financial Aid Office on behalf of the recipient.
