TPT Career Fairs for Recruiters

Recruiting, selecting and retaining law enforcement personnel is probably the most challenging internal issue facing law enforcement departments.   Given the current environment of policing, recruiting the next generation of police officers is more difficult than ever before with the pressures, demands, and expectations of the community, finding individuals who want to step into and stay in this dangerous career. Other factors that has also impacted critical shortages is high attrition in Law Enforcement, decreasing pool of potential police, low pay, disqualifying  behaviors, lack of physical fitness, and credit issues which can affect hire-ability.   The bottom line is that most police departments, especially at the state and local levels, need good people. And though the pay is not as high as other careers or and other criminal justice careers, there are still plenty of great reasons to become a police officer.
