To enroll in this course and become credentialed as a Texas Marine Safety Enforcement Officer, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Be an active duty peace officer–A peace officer holding a valid peace officer license from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and a valid peace officer commission issued by an authorized governmental entity of the State of Texas.

2. Hold a Texas boater education certificate; and

3. Successfully complete the marine safety enforcement officer training course and marine safety enforcement officer examination.

Upon successful completion of the course and exam you will receive 8 hours of TCOLE credit. TPWD personnel will then review compliance will credentialing criteria an will credential those peace officer who meet all the applicable provisions of the law.
